Solutions

We can offer software solutions to a number of spatial data management problems. We can also develop and provide bespoke solutions as part of our consultancy services.

Available Software

We have written a piece of software that can use Ordnance Survey polygons to infer and auto-generate BLPU extent polygons. A cross-reference table is also generated. While not all the polygons will be correct, this can provide a huge leap forward by creating a first-pass dataset. If you do not wish to purchase software for this, we can run the process for you as part of a consultancy service.

We have tools that can read the NLPG/NSG file formats into fully styled MapInfo tables ready for immediate use in a GIS. The software can also be used to export gazetteers from a GIS back into these file formats.

Our custom address matching software can import address data from a number of different file formats, and then matches the addresses to either a LLPG or any OS Addressing Product. The output is a cross-reference table between the two datasets. The match rates are generally good. Fuzzy matching is used.

For those who prefer to work outside of corporate systems, our Gazetteer Management System is great for offline editing of gazetteers. It can handle plot building, cross-referencing, classification of BLPUs and also manages change-only exports which can be used to communicate changes back into a corporate gazetteer system.

Highway Viewer is no longer just for dealing with highway-related data: it is a user-friendly GIS experience, configurable to suit end-user needs. It displays data in an intuitive way and allows basic searches on attributes, within distance and 'find nearest'.
